start small.

one of my new year’s resolutions was to guerilla garden. although i am constantly inspired by this blog, i am just too chicken to conduct a full-fledged commando mission to plant in some stranger’s yard. i did, however, want to brighten a neighbor’s day, anonymously of course, so i put together a planter with some sun-loving annuals and had husband drop them off on an elderly neighbor’s front porch with a small note. we live in a neighborhood where there are many new families, but also many people who’ve been living here since the 40s and 50s when this tract was built.  they try their best to keep up their yards, but as i saw with an aging grandmother myself, that is pretty difficult at times. if you are at all inspired to do the same (for anyone you feel is deserving), please email or comment and send pictures!
